Alhambra highlight

Strong Asian-American (especially Chinese) community

Alhambra is more than half Asian-American, with approximately 32,010 Chinese residents—one of California's most established and economically vibrant Asian communities.

The 2020 Census recorded 82,868 residents in Alhambra, with 51.3% identifying as Asian—making the city one of California's most diverse. Chinese residents represent the largest ethnic subgroup, followed by significant Taiwanese, Vietnamese, and other East and Southeast Asian populations. This demographic composition reflects generations of immigration and community building, with 44.8% of residents born outside the United States.

The city's strong Asian-American community is anchored in family networks, cultural institutions, and a thriving business sector. From multiethnic churches and cultural centers to ethnic grocers, import businesses, and professional services, Alhambra's economy is built by and for these families. Many are owner-entrepreneurs or professionals serving their own communities, with investments in property, education, and their children's futures.

For families with multiple generations here or abroad, protecting each breadwinner's earning power becomes critical. Life insurance ensures that a career interruption or death does not unravel the family's financial plans—mortgages, children's education, aging parents' care, or remittances. Many families in Alhambra weigh whether to insure each working adult so that the family's combined stability does not hinge on one income.
